So, apparently my koi fish caused quite a controversy. Here's the livejournal post at devsnark: [link]

And since I'm not a member, and non-member posts are restricted, I figured I would post it here. If any of you members happen to catch this, cool. Or maybe someone could relay it. I dunno.

I really appreciate the post being brought to my attention, however.

"Goodness, I didn't think my fish would cause such a ruckus...

I suppose I should correct a few horrible misjudgements, first.
I never claimed this was a professional scarification, not once. My fish is a crappy DIY scratch job, and I've seen some beautiful, deep scarifications that will always surpass my little fish!
I also know that the alcohol doesn't really sterilize the improper tools I used. More or less I meant I roughly cleaned the tools I used, and using the word 'sterilized' wasn't proper.
And to whomever mentioned it being 'infected', no. It never got infected. Not once during it's existence did it get infected. Red and healing, yes, but not infected.

To those of you who don't like it, don't find it appealing, or think it's some cry for attention, then so be it. If you think I'm crying out, then you don't know a single ounce of who I am as a person. But it doesn't really matter to me. You're all entitled to your opinions.

And to those of you who DO like it, thank you. It's long since passed and tattooed over, but thank you for your comments.

I did this because I could. And I would never recommend anyone else doing such a thing. It's always best to go to a professional who knows what they're doing. Personally, whether it's a shit job or not, I find it more personal to jab at myself and damage some skin, then to have some stranger with a knife or a needle do it. But really, I could go on and on as to why I did it, but I will assure you of one thing.

It wasn't a cry for attention, help, or some 'emo cutting'. I went through that phase a long time ago, and frankly, I know that I, the person who owns this body and this mind, knows the difference.

I guess my final word is this. If you don't like it, fine. If you like it, great. But it makes no difference to me, either way. I just came here to clear up some misjudgements.

I admire your mature reaction- seems like a silly piece to make an entry there about, but I hear that particular community jumps on absolutely anything it can, funny or not..
:iconcubi:
Yeah, looking through their community, I got the same impression.

I think they need to find something a little more productive with their lives other than throwing private insults at everyone's works.
:iconalexar:
That or spreading little snippits and gossip 'bout you.

They honestly have nothing better to do if they just judge you like that from one picture.
